Planning Your Visit
Everything you need to know before you arrive.
Location
Kasımpaşa Mevlevihanesi, Kasımpaşa neighborhood, Beyoğlu district, Istanbul. A short taxi or metro ride from Taksim and Galata. The lodge is hidden in a quiet street — give yourself extra time to find it.
Dress code
Smart casual. Shoulders and knees covered out of respect for the sacred space. Comfortable shoes — you may be seated cross-legged on cushions. No specific religious dress required.
Duration & arrival
The ceremony lasts approximately 60 minutes. Doors open 30 minutes before the start time. Arrive early — late entry is not permitted once the ney begins.
Photography
Silent photography (no flash, no shutter sound) is permitted during the opening and closing. Photography during the whirling itself is not allowed.
